You can read a good synopsis here. I am too lazy to write one for a book that was only okay. The cultures involved were fairly interesting (the good guys have a sort of Caribbean/island culture, and the bad guys are pretty bloodthirsty Aztec-like fellows), but for some reason I just didn't really care about the characters.
This is Buckell's first book, and there's some cool stuff in here. I'm willing to give him another try based on this effort. Still, I can't really recommend this to anyone who's not a fan of his.
